It all comes down to these three key components.  This guide will walk you through how to connect these components to deliver your live stream successfully.

There are other, optional components, of course, and we'll cover those later.  But especially if you're just getting started, focus on these three.

And the good news is... you only need two of the three for a simple setup

This can be a single camera on a tripod

If you are using multiple cameras or additional audio sources, you will want to use a mixer to bring all of your sources together for broadcast. 

A mixer, such as the Roland VR-3EX can also manage your broadcast, offer lower thirds, screen switching and more.

Here is how to setup a simple, camera to a PC or Mac with a Capture Adapter.  The camera in this case is not a mobile device.

For the most part, you probably have the correct cable that came with your camera to connect with your mixer or computer.

Look at the back of your camera for OUT interfaces.  It could be one for both audio and video or it could be separate.

For a simple, close-up shoot, you might be able to use your camera's audio.

However, the quality may not meet your needs.  You have some options:

Check your camera for an Audio-In connection.  If it is available, there are many low-cost microphones you can plug into your camera.
